Kuwait, November 24, 2020 — Mezzan Holding KSC’s (BKSC: Mezzan) fully-owned subsidiary, National Canned Food Production & Trading Company W.L.L. (NCF), launched the first bottled alkaline water produced in Kuwait by Aqua Gulf. The new product, Aqua Gulf Alkapure pH8, is now available at hypermarkets, supermarkets, and cooperative branches across Kuwait.
Alkapure pH8 joins Aqua Gulf’s current portfolio of low sodium and zero sodium bottled water. The product is now available at retailers across Kuwait in 200ml, 300ml, 500ml and 1.5L bottles.

Benefits of alkaline water:
- Restores pH balance in the body – With a pH level of 8, alkaline water effectively neutralizes the acid in the human body compared to other water types that generally have a neutral pH of 7. The lower the number, the more acidic the water is.
- Increases energy – High acidity levels in the body can result in the loss of energy and an increase in fatigue and drowsiness. Alkaline water is a recommended source of reversing acidic levels in the body to restore withdrawn energy levels.

Water produced by the facilities undergo a purification process followed by chemical and microbiological testing before bottling. The Kuwait facility produces 149 million liters a year of the company’s flagship water brand, Aqua Gulf, making it one of the largest producers of bottled water in the country by production capacity. The Qatar facility produces the company’s second water brand, DANA, which is distributed in Qatari and Kuwaiti markets.
