Kuwait, November 12, 2020 — Mezzan Holding was recognized today by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) for donating meals on a daily basis to quarantined residents in Kuwait at the start of the pandemic. Among its many other contributions, the company also donated medications manufactured by its pharmaceutical subsidiary KSPICO to hospitals in Beirut following the deadly port explosion in August. KSPICO is Kuwait’s only pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
The recognition was provided by KRCS Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Hilal Al Sayer and KRCS Secretary-General Ms. Maha Al-Barjas, and received on behalf of the company by Mezzan Holding Chairman Mr. Abdulrahman Al Wazzan.
Mezzan Holding Chairman Mr. Abdulrahman Al Wazzan said: “Helping people and alleviating their hardships are values ingrained in our DNA. For a company that opened its first store 75 years ago, we have always believed in the development of our community. We are proud to work with KRCS again and thank them for their support and the good work they do.”
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society is a voluntary humanitarian society that provides assistance to the most vulnerable people affected by social conflicts, wars, or natural disasters without discrimination against any human being regardless of nationality, gender, color, race, religious or political beliefs. During the coronavirus disease outbreak, KRCS took a leading role in supporting those affected directly or indirectly by the pandemic in Kuwait.
